Christopher has been teaching guitar classes and private lessons in the east bay for 6 years and counting. Playing bass and guitar in various bands with various styles for over a decade, he realized his passion for music long ago and ended up receiving his BA in Music Performance. In addition to performing, teaching has become a new passion for him. With a mix of classic and modern hits, Christopher forms a set of songs his students perform in a concert at the end of each session.

In 1986 Theo Cedar Jones completed four years of college at UC Berkeley, and started his career as a professional musician in his band Swaybone and his other career as a teacher/therapist with emotionally disturbed children at Richmond’s Therapeutic Nursery School. In 2001 I began to teach guitar privately, and in 2007 I joined the Nusku Arts program, teaching classrooms of kids rock and roll guitar after school. Since then, he has helped hundreds of guitar students get launched in their careers as musicians and artists.He loves introducing young people to the greatest songs of classic rock, and helping them to increase their fun, skills and confidence.

Rana

A lifelong student of music and dance, Rana works professionally in musical theatre throughout the Bay Area. Among many companies she has worked with, Rana has held lead roles in 6 Mountain Play productions in the last 10 years and continues to thrive in the theatre community. Rana studied at Notre Dame de Namur University's Musical Theatre Conservatory, as well as classical voice at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Rana’s vocal style ranges from classical to rock with a 3-octave range and a mezzo belt. Having had great teachers from a young age, she understands the importance of healthy vocal and dance practices - not to mention respecting one another on and off the stage - and is excited to share this knowledge and discipline with young artists.

Bret

Bret is a professional guitarist with years of experience in San Francisco and Paris and the founder and leader of the Duo Kings, an eclectic and virtuosic harmonica and guitar team up. He has have a degree in music education and studied jazz guitar under the renowned Bay Area guitarist and educator Warren Nunes.

Aharon

Aharon first picked up the drum sticks in 1983 here in the Bay Area and enjoys an international career as a professional performer on drums, tabla, middle eastern percussion, kalimbas, flutes and many other instruments. His first drum set and classical percussion teachers were Tom Donlinger (Van Morrison) and Jim Dalrymple (Cal Tjader, SF Symphony). Since 1995 Aharon has studied Classical Indian tabla percussion with Swapan Chaudhuri and vocal and instrumental raga with Ali Akbar Khan and holds a BA in World Music and Comparative Literature (French). He has performed in and studied with masters in India, Turkey, Brazil, Bali, Japan, Mali, Burina Faso, the Balkans, and throughout Northern Europe and North America. Aharon also teaches and performs body percussion, vocal rhythm and improvisation from Esalen to Sao Paulao, Brazil (IBMF III) and STSI in Solo, Java. He performs ubiquitously with such groups as the San Francisco Mime Troupe, Gamelan X, and many innovative singer-songerwriters.

Stephen

Stephen is a producer and multi instrumentalist, primarily focusing on guitar and bass. He has been playing guitar for 13 years and producing for 6. He has played in many bands throughout the years, ranging from jazz ensembles and indonesian folk groups to hip hop and rock bands, and beyond. For his undergraduate studies he attended UC Riverside in southern California and received his B.A. in Music in 2013.

Ryan

Ryan began studying choral singing and hiphop dance while in High school in Chicago. After 1 year at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC, he returned to Chicago and joined "Be The Groove," and interdisciplinary percussion ensemble. From 2011-2013 Ryan studied to "TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process" in Australia, learning how to guide groups of all descriptions into joyful rhythm-making together. Today Ryan is thriving bay area transplant and a proud contributor to the Nusku Arts Club Jam program.

Born in Oakland California, Chris Meeder has been playing guitar for 15 years in metal and pop punk bands. In a constant pursuit for new ways to look at the instrument he went to Musicians institute in Hollywood. Graduating with an Aa in performance guitar and instruction, and minoring in recording technology and vocals. Now having a understanding for the roots and interworking Jazz and blues guitar he moved back to Oakland to spread his new found knowledge learned in Hollywood. Specializing in teaching good technique, proper progressive practicing, and keeping things interesting, promoting a fun easygoing perspective on music. Always trying to instill that everyone has the potential to do anything they want in life, it's just about how hard they focus.

David has performed with many touring and local acts across the US, and can be seen performing occasionally with several Bay Area bands (Afrolicious, Bongo Sidebe, Thobekele). "I draw from a very deep well of knowledge that comes from a lifetime of creating art and music, appreciation of nature, teaching, and time spent learning from both universities and spiritual communities. His background in psychology also includes education in music therapy, art education, music, special education, and child development/education. His background in the communities in which he has lived has provided him with opportunities to learn art and music from all over the globe, help others in need, understand music and art in a deeper way, and grow from the wisdom that goes far beyond the classroom."

Danielle grew up running around the forests of New J ersey creating forts, fairy houses and adventuring with her younger brother. She attended Rhode Island School of Design's painting program. Following graduation, she stayed in providence to start a fine art print editioning/ screen printing business and create pop up art galleries. Through the festival scene of symbiosis, she found a community of artist, performers, healers, and bio hackers in the Bay Area.Recently, she have realized an itching desire to get back into the classroom and give back through teaching. A native of Kyoto, Japan, Koskay is a recent graduate from California Institute of IntegralStudies in San Francisco where he focused on social change and justice. He is passionateabout music, dance and community building. Trained in collaborative spaces, he is most excitedby the opportunity to bring those values to a country preoccupied with individuality. Koskay is anatural musician and dancer who has studied many different styles of drumming and dancingaround the world. Recently, he teamed up with Nusku Arts and co-created a curriculum called"Dance Jam" to teach community values to children of 5 to 10 years old. He is also a versatile,gentle, and dynamic dancer. His wish is to continue expanding his community while contributingto the causes that matter to him. More to come this year.
